I enjoy making handleless cups.
First bisque firing since early June!
It has been a HOT summer, but yesterday was finally a cooler day where I could do a bisque firing. Next, decide if I have enough pottery to do a second bisque load, or start glazing and do a glaze firing?? I’ll probably start glazing.

Top of kiln, waiting for it to cool enough to unload.

Kiln unloaded, lots of cups and mugs!

Bowls.

Pottery on drying shelf waiting to be bisqued.
Raku
Over the years I have had the oppotunity to do Raku Firings.
Finally Firing!!
Our weather has gone from in the 30’s C. for the past 6 weeks or so, to 16 C. this morning, with a high of 20 C. for the day!! I’ve had my kiln loaded with a bisque firing since June because I had hoped to get a bisque and glaze firing done the last week of June, but the temperatures went up to 30 C. and has stayed hot since. So, today I’m doing the bisque firing, but we’ve been hearing thunder since we got up this morning, so worried that we can end up with power outage. I have my fingers and toes crossed.

Only about 400 degrees more which will take about another 4 hours.

Cloudy, rainy, smokey!!

It is actually raining.
